about your deck not motorizing out, you may find its cheeper to just get a new one then trying to get it fixed, just from experience and what i have found with customers, altho some how some customers justify spending the 150-200 to get a 5 year old deck fixed then buying a newer deck with better and more functions, i dont understand people sometimes lol

^^True indeed.

Could never figure out how people could be so attached to an older model deck.....depending on what it was, of course.

i know head units are really cheap right now. many more features like the bluetooth and stuff, but if anyone knows about the alpine cda-7998, they would understand. i would say its one of the best head units Alpine ever made not counting the F-status units.:omghi2u:

I actually want to upgrade to the 9887, so I can understand the desire to hang on to an Alpine unit.

not there
Ok, I know what you mean. I did the same thing with a thin piece of wood to mount my distribution block and ground splitter there. Ima try and attack that sometime next month and update how that goes. Thanks for all the suggestions and comments everyone!!!!

my distribution block is under my rockford amp the carpet it raised there because all the wires are under it nothing was connected yet its working out great for me just wish i had the tools and space to make a custom box that was wider and taller and sat further back in the trunk.

I actually want to upgrade to the 9887, so I can understand the desire to hang on to an Alpine unit.

I had a 9886 before i plugged in a CDA-117 and what a difference did it make omg my system is externally amped so the 4v preouts made the biggest difference id say so dont know how much you would notice if you use the internal amp for speakers but im totally satisfied with this one and so many shortcuts to navigate the ipod with ease although i dont know if the previous alpines i had (9884,9886) had these shortcuts :p

Yup you and me both. ETA is unknown due to the tragic natural disaster in Japan. I'm first in line for the H800 as well.

Do you guys realize they don't make the 9887 anymore? I bought mine from woofersetc.com. WOW was that a big mistake. It took a major dump on me.
