This might be a little easier for some of you to answer,But one of my HID ballast went out and and not sure on whether i have to buy a whole new kit to fix the problem or buy just a ballast?
Im not sure what make is my HID kit as it came with the car. Currently i have projector housing and want to know if i can jsut replace the ballast or can i just buy a pair of those higher end bulbs(silverstar..etc) and install them on my projector housing as another option.?? open to any suggestions thanks

If you are not sure whether it's the ballast or the bulb, just take the bulb from the side that is working and test it with the ballast in question. If your bulb doesn't light up, you know it's the ballast. If the bulb lights up, you know that it's the bulb.

You can just purchase another ballast to replace if your ballast is broken.

If your headlights are aftermarket, I doubt they will take OEM bulb sizes like the D2S. Only true OEM projectors take bulbs from Philips, Osram, etc.

To find the current bulb size, just take a look at what bulbs are currently in your headlights.

It doesn't have to to be exact brand but should be simular in specs and connector plugs.
