So I was wondering how many of your cars P and D (automatic) light up when you turn your key to position II...

I could have swore I read somewhere that this was your computer telling you your tranny is on its way out... :seewhatyoudid:

I'm too lazy to go outside and check, so I just found shenaniganz08's old video of his led dash (from v6p), and his only lights up the P on the second click. I think that is how it is supposed to work.

I just went outside and checked. Lol. My "P" and "D4" do light up on the second click. After a few seconds, the "D4" light goes away. However, I am on my second transmission...

I started looking up other youtube videos and it seems as though 90% do light up...

If you pay attention closely to the video you posted you can see that the D4 light does not light up when he downshifts to it implying that the light or something is broken and the D4 never lights up

I could be wrong

be like it is
P and D4 light up when the key is turned. the car does its checks, a relay clicks, and the D4 light goes out. selecting another gear makes that one light up, choosing D4 shouldn't turn the gear indicator off.

But I got an appointment with Honda tomorrow to get it checked out...I wonder if they are going to try to charge me for the inspection :furious:
hell yeah they'll charge you...$90-110. if the trans isnt actually acting weird, why take it in?

**** I feel dumb now, i did more searching on youtube and found another video of a 2000 accord (ignore the glow gauges) and you can see at the beginning the P and D light up, then the D goes off, like Ofnir107 said earlier.
My bad.
Video for reference:
