So its official, at 250k miles with high daily revving, offroading, and daily whooping the shit out of the car driving the car decided to spin a rod bearing in cylinder 1 :lolhitting:

Surprisingly the trans didnt take a shit quicker.

The quick fix: F23 or F23A3? from Japan with about 33k miles on it.

Long term solution:

Dude that is hilarious you wheeled that giant hunk of metal around the block…the thoughts people must have had when they looked out their window and saw a man pushing a cart with an old motor/trans in it. :lawl:

The pic of the scissor jack and blocks of wood are kind of scary, but glad nothing happened. How did you get the motor and trans out w/o a hoist?

The photo of the broken wrench is funny, I broke several during my swap.

Well I’d say sorry it died, but you seem happy so congrats on the upcoming upgrade. :)

New motors ftw!

EDIT: Nevermind, I see what you did.

Yup, removed subframe jacks lowered everything to the ground, and than i used my huge grizzly hands to pull it around to the front bumper.

I forgot that 10 bolts hold the torque converter to the drive wheel on the crank. I bear hugged the motor and just started to push on the tranny with my feet and wiggle the block. Its quite an experience I must say. Especially since I did it by myself :)

And this guy was asking if the engine is going for scrap so he could take it. I told him Ill sell you the engine and trans for 5k and you can have shell of my car for free. Guy walked away lol

why not just rebuild your bottom end instead of buyin a new motor and building it up for turbo?? rebuild kits are way cheaper then buyin a whole new swap.. unless you came up on it for deals
