HID's Questions and Concerns

Hello, I have a 99' Accord Coupe EX V6 and I just have a couple of questions.

On the sticky, it says HID's are illegal, but that was written in '08, so has that changed? I assume it has though

Im also thinking of 5000k HID's for my headlights. Would I be able to keep them in my stock housing and use my stock wiring harness and not have any damage or blind other drivers with the stock wiring harness or housings?

Where is the best place to mount my ballasts as well?

Im thinking a DDM Tuning HID Kit as well. But would these be able to be used in stock housings?

I assume a lot of you have HID's and could help me out.

Im sorry, I know you have answered a lot of my questions, but I just want to make sure.

I have the DDM 6000k 35w slim ballasts in my low beams (9006) and I really like them. Not sure on the laws but you will get bunches of glare in stock headlights compared to a retrofit. I have them in my stock ones and haven't been flashed by other drivers so I guess it isn't too blinding but I think mine are aimed down a little.

DDM kits are cheap and I heard good and bad stuff about customer service but I didn't have any problems, took about a week and a half to get here though.

Just stick to 35w so it's not overly bright and you won't risk melting any wires or anything.

Don't get hid high beams either since they have to warm up and won't last as long since you normally turn your high beams on and off more often.

So i shouldnt get the 55W. Yeah, and if you havent had any complaints or flashes or cites on your lights, Ill do the 35W. Just another question though. On your DDM Kit, did you have to do any extra wiring or anything?

Im not exactly the best person with electrical things. Took me forever to get my civic fogs going, but they had civic connectors, so I had to change those.

Also, the website says most years of Accords have problems with the low beams because of the reversed polarity. Did that make any difference with you?

Get the 35w.
It was all plug and play for me, just connect the wires together, pretty straight forward.
I zip tied the ballast into the little holes above the headlights.

Get 35w. Do not get HIDs for your high beams. Best useable light is found from 5000k to 6000k. There is no 'reversed polarity' issues. You do not have to mess with any wiring harnesses etc..

Its simple plug 'n' play. Connect your HID ballast to your existing bulb socket in the car. Insert, twist and lock the HID bulb into the headlight bulb socket, (just as you'd do for a normal headlight bulb).. (You will understand everything once you've got the HID kit).
Mount your ballast somewhere waterproof, such as on the reinforcement bars behind your bumper using either zip ties or bolts. The kit usually comes with mounting hardware.
Make sure you aim your headlights properly so that it doesn't blind oncoming traffic.
