Im function over form. I live in spot that has bad roads to. i want the perfect wheel size for straight performance and handling. 16s or 17s. i can find wheels in 16's that i like and would good so thats not a problem its a straight jdm look. main question is for performance would 16s do better than 17s the 16's im lookin at weigh 18 pounds and the 17s weigh 21

Here's how I look at it, Right now I have some 17x8's that are heavy (22+).
Eventually when I get some RPF1's (17x8), they're about 17.5 lbs each, the ones I have now will be winter rims.

I say if you don't have a very large budget and lighter wheels are important to you go with some 16's the weight reduction will be slightly noticeable. The problem we face with such a heavy frame is finding that balance between reducing the weight of this fat bastard without sacrificing handling and road grip (which it doesn't really have either...)

That's my .02

thanks for the advice. i guess 16's would be the better choice for me. im not worried about wheel gap i have coilovers so i can drop it to sit nice with the 16's. i need my wheels to help make the car more agile and really have some handling. 17's look way better but like said im more about straight performance.

oh and btw the 16's im lookin at do just that because they are stance wheels. so they are light luckily and are wide. and have a low offset. so it would lighten weight and add more grip to the ground... perfect setup
