Re: RR's 3.2L '99 EX-L Coupe 6MT

A keen eye, Richard lol. I have been updating the mod list and have a lot to update the thread with, but waiting until the new wheels are done to do so. Then I have many photos to take haha.

When I met Rich for my swap, he had the Hyper Medalion catback on his 7GA 6spd, and I loved it because it sounded more like a race exhaust. It would pop on the overrun and it was a little higher pitched. They don’t make it for the 6GA (from what I see), so you’d either have to buy the 2G TL system and custom fit it…

…or you could buy the universal Hyper Medalion muffler and weld it on.

Not sure what the difference between those two setups would be sound-wise though. I think there are sound clips on the site but I'm at work lol.

Anyone with a J motor could fit the TL system though. Just might require a little custom work length-wise, and possibly muffler piping depending on where they end up.
Yep, it was Richard lol. Yes pls go ahead and take & post as many pics as possible to make us happy. :)

So, when you saw Rich's 7gen, were the Medallions louder than your Magnaflows? (I'd assume yes, since you say sounded more like a race car, but.)

Yes, it sounds like I must apply some custom work to fit 2gen TL Medallions, if I choose this route. I saw those pages on their site to see the differences. Although I like the look of the Tuner ones better, Tuner Medallions doesn't have, the "-93db" spec.

If I'll end up having some custom work, mind as well I might have G-35 / 37 exhausts or something, b/c they sound pretty nice, meaning not too loud. (I might have seen a 7gen guy from v6p worked on those.) Decisions, decisions lol.

Put them on the Cobalt, it's 5 lug, no?
4 or 5. I believe the 4 lug are 4x100 and the 5 lug are 5x110 or 5x120.

CB, I still have my OEMs; they'remy winters, lol. Even if I ever do get a second set...IDK if I could sell them either. :lawl:

they do make it for the 6GA. i had one on my car a long time ago :) it sounded great like you said but slight drone on the highways. Cans do run a bit big but it really does sound awesome.

oh, that's cool. Those must be Super Medallions. (must be one of those oldschool models, b/c I don't see it on their website no more.) But that's good to know. Thanx for the input, sir.

They don't look too big. At least the tip is on the bottom of the can so you can tuck it up and not have to worry about it hanging.

I thought the vette blades were 5x114, just a crazy width and offset.

Not sure, I thought I read Fundillo needed adaptors to get them to fit.

CB, we'll get back on point with your thread.

Have you put that trunk lip spoiler on, yet?

^Nope, can't get a two day run without some sort of precipitation around here. I want it to be dry on the day following the installation just to make sure the adhesive has had time to set. Also needs to be decently warm. Just waiting...
