some cars come with black rear sections stock...i thought they were 01-02...

but ive seen a mix of both from 01-02s...i dont know how to explain it...

I've only seen gray backings, and my '02 didn't come with black ones.

since i screwed one of mine up i was looking on ebay for a used headligt and i saw a black pair. i didnt think they made em in black either.

my car came with a gray pair (98)

got a black pair (unknown...most likely 02 sedan)

gray pair made in taiwan (box said 98-01)

got another black pair (02 SE sedan)

Update. kinda. here's some pictures of the color contrast. at this point i should have had the projectors... but my rear brakes were shot. i should have taken a picture. but heres some pics of the headlights.

also, i have 2 questions. first does anyone know if the lense off an aftermarket headlight will fit on oem housings. and second i'm looking for a power feed that comes on when the car is on. it only needs to power 10 leds kinda like DRLs.

yes. people have been using tyc lenses forever. you cant get them separate unless the rare occasion arises where a member would be selling them.

ok. i was just gonna take the ones off the black housed headlights i have on my car now. the oem ones were just beyond saving. so when i have everything done i'll split the ebay ones and use the lenses.
