Ughh, no AC in the summer in Texas would be horrible. Went through Texas on the way to Mexico City this past summer in Connie with no AC, and it was 90 degrees and humid as hell. It was horrible, and the leather didn't help. Connie is missing the receiver/drier, the condenser, and half of the...

What to look for when buying a 6GA?

There aren't many of them. But I have to say that black coupes with leather are my favourite too, my 2000 V6 coupe is black and it looks nicer than any other colour in my opinion. How's the clear coat on yours? Congrats on the new ride man!

    Connie, 2002 EX-V6 Coupe (56K)

There's another V6 coupe that just came up on kijiji for $500 lol. Apparently it has new tires. I think this is the year everyone is giving up on these cars, so that's good news for me! I've actually contemplated fixing the green one up and selling it. It just needs a gas tank (because of...

How to replace the gas tank, the easy way with pics!

Thanks, it's really not that bad. Finished it up last night, all that was left was to hose clamp the fill and evap hoses and put the plastic cover back on, hook up the abs sensors, put the back brakes back together and put gas in the new tank! Pressurized the system afterwards, and no fuel...

I am so jealous of your emissions testing situation. I wish it was like that here. All I used to clean up under the hood was some penetrant and a rag. Only spent 10 minutes on it so far; once I have more time to spend under there it'll look even better. Super clean, a pressure washer, some...

    Midnight, 2000 EX-V6 Coupe (56K)

Anything OBDII just gets scanned to make sure all the monitors are running. Anything older as far back as 1988 gets sniffed. Which is why my RX7 is off the road for now....blew almost 10 times the legal limit of HC last time I tried to plate it. The check engine light isn't on, so I should be...

It'll feel like a new car once that's all done and you get an alignment I bet

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I am pretty sure the seats in the later cars (2000-2002) had beefier bolsters than the 98-99 earlier cars. The 3 late cars I have all have nice beefy bolsters, but my 98 sedan has much smaller bolsters than the others. Maybe look at swapping to later model seats...

Interesting thought on the seats, you're probably right! And those OEM power everything seats do weigh a ton. I'll admit, though, that I've grown used to them, and like the power adjustment quite a lot. Very comfortable, too. My black car has the heated seats too, which is especially awesome...

Thanks, I don't worry. I just feel bad with people who have to make payments on something that'll be worth a fraction of what was paid by the time its paid off. I'm lucky she's so cool. Took me a long time to find her. Hoping to get it plated by next weekend, just need to deal with the...

How to replace the gas tank, the easy way with pics!

Here is the sub-frame ready to go back into the car. I sprayed some paint on it to try and slow down future rusting; maybe it'll help. I also cleaned up and greased the strut mounting flanges on the knuckle as well as the shocks themselves. This makes lining the shocks up with the knuckles a...

Very true, and exactly what I use these cars for every day. When I had my RX7 on the road last summer, my left leg would be killing me by the time I got through the traffic. They are very comfortable cars too. Long drives or stuck in traffic for hours is much more bearable in these cars...

My coupe parts car has a good silver passenger door, and you're not THAT far lol. Lots of them popping up in the yards this spring, you'll probably find what you need. I think all of the gas tanks rusted out at the same time or something.

I think if you are gentle with it, it can last a long time. There are a lot of sedans with a lot of miles on them on an original transmission, and a lot fewer coupes. People that buy coupes drive differently than people who buy sedans. I buy coupes, and drive like someone who does, and still...

    Midnight, 2000 EX-V6 Coupe (56K)

Thanks man. I picked up 3 of these cars over the last 2 months for $1400 total. The silver coupe with front end damage was $200 and the green sedan with no gas tank was $400. I paid $600 for Connie 4 years ago. I found them all on Kijiji (like Canadian Craigslist). I'm sure there are lots of...

$596.44 US lol The interior is actually really nice. I'll take some pics when I'm not at work and post them when I have time. I cleaned up under the hood a bit too last night, so I'll take new pics as soon as I can. My girlfriend is pretty cool; she drives Connie when I'm not using her and...

How to replace the gas tank, the easy way with pics!

You're right. It's not that hard to replace, but ALL 4 of my 6Gs had rusted out tanks in the exact same spot this spring. I suppose the cars were never designed to last more than 10 years, so it's annoying but hard to complain. 17 years is longer than the lives of most cars.

How to replace the gas tank, the easy way with pics!

Compared to Connie, the white one with 466k on it I did 2 weeks ago, this was a walk in the park corrosion wise. I actually got those rusty connectors apart on Connie without making the lines leak, but it took a whole can of penetrant and about 5 hours with dentist picks to pick enough rust out...

    Midnight, 2000 EX-V6 Coupe (56K)

I picked this thing up a few weeks ago for the princely sum of $800. It had been sideswiped and has damage on the passenger side fender, and the passenger side mirror was missing, and it leaked gas (tank) and power steering fluid (return line @ rack). Other than that, it's in excellent shape...

How to replace the gas tank, the easy way with pics!

Since I have had to do this twice in the past 2 weeks, and since it's a slow day at work today, I figured it would be a great time to do a step-by-step on how to replace the gas tank. I have 4 6th gen Accords at the moment, and all 4 of them had developed a fuel leak in the tank at the front...
