    Cold brake pedal

I noticed that my car idles high on cold days until it is warmed up. Not sure if this is normal, but it does take a little more brake pedal effort to stop it before the idle comes down to normal. Maybe it's just that? Definitely bleed the brakes until clean fluid comes out. I do mine every...

    Constantly going through wheel bearings.

I thought these bearings came as sealed units with no way to add grease though? That's what I remember from last time I bought one, but maybe I'm mixing that up with the Civic I used to have. I do have some high temp bearing grease leftover from when I repacked the old style bearings in my 87...

    Constantly going through wheel bearings.

I have 4 spare knuckles and just have new bearings pressed into the ones that aren't currently in the car so I can just swap the hub. The scrapyards here charge 50-75 bucks for a used knuckle, and I would have to go pull it out myself. It's spring, so pulling a hub from a junkyard in the mud...

    99' j32 swap to 99' accord coupe

OK, and thank you SO MUCH for that information. I'll do some digging and see if I can find out what else I need to make this work. 03-07 automatic v6 accords are a dime a dozen here, so finding a transmission should be easy. That's one good thing about the rust belt, where people basically...

    Spark plug wires to coilpacks

Does the immobilizer cut power to the computer too or just prevent the starter from engaging? If the immobilizer just prevents the starter from engaging, the car would start with this method. If it cuts power to the computer, it won't. Maybe someone who knows more about the immobilizer will...

    Rusty Accord's 99 Sedan LX F23A4 w/5speed (56K)

I pulled the tank out of my parts car over the weekend to use in my black car which is also leaking gas from the tank (parts car tank ended up being rusted out too, unfortunately; so I gotta drop another 180 bucks on another gas tank), and looking at it, it seems you could drop the tank by...

    Connie, 2002 EX-V6 Coupe (56K)

Thanks man:waytogo: I like it too. My girlfriend says I'm never allowed to sell it. I think she loves it more than I do. The drivers side has some rust starting in front of the wheel, but the passenger side is still almost perfect. It's rusting in weird places. Like under the back window...

    Connie, 2002 EX-V6 Coupe (56K)

Haha, that's quite true. I have been checking to make sure the VTEC works right up until redline every day when getting onto the highway before hitting traffic. Still works, lol. And the noise she makes with the intake and exhaust is not something you would expect from something that looks as...

    99' j32 swap to 99' accord coupe

I hate to dig this up, but was wondering if the Type-S automatics had identical transmissions as the non type-s cars? I recently found an 02 Type-s for cheap and was wondering if it'd be worth my while? I want the extra 60hp. Automatic is fine for my highway cruiser, my sports cars are all...

    Spark plug wires to coilpacks

What happens if you put the key in, turn it to run (position 2), and jump the starter with a wrench? I banged a starter cap once while pulling a motor and knocked the pressed-on piece loose, so the cap rattled and had an intermittent ground. When it wouldn't start with the key, I had a...

    Connie, 2002 EX-V6 Coupe (56K)

Body: -"Road Warrior" look -Bottom half of front bumper missing. -Loads of rust (weight reduction?) -front bumper held on with scraps of metal and self tapping screws -rear ended 18 months ago, so rear bumper held on with self tapping screws -New OEM replacement headlight housings (because I...

    Constantly going through wheel bearings.

Thanks for your reply. I am going to order from Honda this time and press it myself. The one that's gone now (RR) is low on grease....I know because aside from being a bit rumbly, when the car is in the air with the brakes and wheels off, if you spin the hub, it doesn't stop right away...

    Constantly going through wheel bearings.

I agree. But like I mentioned in my previous posts, I have been using different knuckles (I've had a few parts cars over the years) when I swap the bearings every time to reduce my downtime, as this is my daily. So I think the chances of bent knuckles causing this are pretty low...

    01 accord j30a1 swap for j30A

Just did a quick google and it seems like the J30A came in the JDM Odyssey and was rated at 210hp rather than the 200hp of the J30A1 in the 6GA. Not sure what kind of power it makes connected to the 6GA computer though.

    01 accord j30a1 swap for j30A

I have a J30A in my car, a 2002 V6 coupe. Swaps right in. I had to use my COP setup from my old engine because my car is an '02, and the J30A I got must have been a 98 or 99 because it had the older style distributor ignition. But swaps right in. Not sure what the difference between J30A and...

    Constantly going through wheel bearings.

OEMs didn't make any difference for me. Got between 50 and 60k km on them before either the ABS light came on or they got noisy or both. The same amount of time I got from the aftermarket ones I ordered the first few times. But almost twice the price.

    Constantly going through wheel bearings.

I haven't had an alignment in awhile, but I have had several alignments over the past few years, and it is never far off when I get it done. I have had this consistent bearing issue for 3 years now, been aligned 3 or 4 times during that period. The tires always wear evenly, and the car goes...

    Constantly going through wheel bearings.

By factory I mean the ones in there when they made the car. I have tried buying the OEM Honda bearings directly from Honda and it's the same failure time for twice the price.

    Constantly going through wheel bearings.

My original wheel bearings were in the car when I bought it 4 years ago with 141000km. They lasted until almost 200000km before the fronts started rumbling and the abs light came on, pretty reasonable mileage for this in my opinion. I removed the hubs, and had new bearings pressed in. 50000km...

    Rusty Accord's 99 Sedan LX F23A4 w/5speed (56K)

No problem. As you clearly know these cars are great, reliable and cheap to keep going if you don't mind spending a little time here and there to keep up on things as they wear out. I think I have put 6, maybe 7 wheel bearings in Connie since 2014, lol. For some reason the Haynes manual...

    Rusty Accord's 99 Sedan LX F23A4 w/5speed (56K)

I'd start spraying those fuel line connectors in front of the gas tank now if you want them to come unclipped. (the ones that join the plastic fuel lines to the hard lines right in front of the tank.) I just did mine and those connectors took me all day to undo because of all the rust. There's...
