Jdm h23a vtec blue top swap guide

Nice write-up, but something I'm a little confused on. You say you have the h23a in your car, which uses the PCF ecu. But then you make a write-up for an f20b swap which uses a PCB ecu. So which one are you using in your car, the PCF or PCB? And is the ecu wiring section going to exactly the...

Zhaq's 1999 Honda Accord EX Turbo

Re: My 1999 Honda Accord EX Turbo How much power is it pushing with only 2 psi? I'd guess around 180, but I could be way off :hide:

    new ride new project

You can boost your f23 and have the same power as an h22 if not more, and have more torque. If you don't want to boost, I'd say h22 might be the best option

    G23

I think I remember someone saying to use an h22 headgasket back when I was considering doing this. Can't remember for sure, but a simple search should do the trick. Also remember passing emissions would be a pain, unless you have another chip with an amazing tune

Jdm h23a swap completed now what

The water temp gauge also stopped working in my Accord right after the did the h23a swap. I thought I just messed up somewhere but couldn't figure it out, didn't expect someone else to have the exact same issue after their swap. I just bought an Autometer gauge and wired it in, works perfectly.

Even with a shortshifter, I still bump my passenger when shifting into 5th. That's the best thing about the Accord!

2001 coupe H23a VTEC swap.... ECU Help

I have the original auto ecu for my h23a vtec lying around. I think it has the tranny computer in it but not very sure, could be wrong on that. If you want, I can give it to you. Just pay shipping.

    start up issue

Are you still using the harness for an auto transmission? <-- Don't think that should really make a difference though... Or did you ever get a hold of the correct ecu?

3 wire to 2 wire IACV help?

I actually think I figured it out the other day. This might sound ridiculous, but I've been using the f23's tiny OEM TB on the h23a (lose some power, but get to keep cruise control since it's a DD). Yesterday I finally put the h23a's TB on after deciding I never use cruise control anyways, and...

3 wire to 2 wire IACV help?

Update: So I finished everything a few days ago and it's working fine! I was overthinking everything the whole time, it really was easy. Took me a while to get used to revving so high, now it's a blast. Only concern is that now it has a slight idle problem, shouldn't be something I can't figure...

    Intake Plenum leak

You replaced the plenum, right? Just making sure I read that right. Also, I never heard of using a metal gasket on an intake... I would imagine a basic felpro or o'reilly gasket would work better

    f23a4/h23 non vtec head

Why are you going with a non vtec head? that seems like a downgrade... I'd say either do a basic turbo setup or keep saving up until you find an h22 head. be patient and you find a decent one for a good price

    Cops are Haters.

Even after I started following the speed limits more (paying your own insurance gets expensive after getting tickets, just not worth it!), the cops still looked for any reason to pull me over whenever I drove a modified car. Last summer I got 3 no insurance tickets even after showing proof, was...

    Speed Daddy exhaust?

It seems like some people expect too much out of an exhaust that cheap and are unsatisfied, and some know what to expect and are happy with the price they paid. It also looks like they just sound nice but don't add any power, but if you're driving on a stock f23 that wouldn't really matter...

I drove it to costco to buy dogfood, realized how messy it is, then partially cleaned it when I got home

3 wire to 2 wire IACV help?

Yeah, I have an OBD2b-OBD1 jumper. I was doing more research and it seems I might not need to repin anything on the ECU connector, just cut the 3 wire IAC connector and wire up the 2 wire connector

    I want better MPG's!

How far below the E can it go? I always freak out and stop at the nearest gas station when it gets close to the bottom of the last line :jae: I usually get between 27-30 mpg with an H engine and the F23's transmission. Maybe 23 (more or less) when I wake up late for work. OP how's your driving...

3 wire to 2 wire IACV help?

Yeah it seems like we're basically doing the same thing, except you're using whole new wires and I'm going to be reusing the wires on the harness. According to the Chilton books, it seems like I need to move the black/blue wire from B23 (original position) to the P13's A9 position. Then I...
