finch13's 1999 Chevy Silverado Build Thread

They are kits to raise the front end of the vehicle to compensate for the factory front "raked" look that is designed to haul heavier loads in the bed of the truck. Basically leveling out your suspension, allowing for bigger wheel/tires. You could probably put helper springs on the rear leafs...

Is anyone dreading spring as much as i am...

You're right. I did forget about that x-mas storm. But ussually that area doesn't get much snowfall to speak off. Hell, it was 70 degrees a couple days ago. FYI, the pot hole is around 77-79 Mile post north bound on I-95 far left passing lane.

If you didn't have your accord, what would you own?

Audi S4 V8...although these wheels would have to go..

Is anyone dreading spring as much as i am...

Speaking of pot holes..I hit one on I-95 in Richmond VA going about 75 MPH. I thought it was gonna tear my right front suspension off. Luckily i still have stock suspension and wheels, but there is no excuse for DOT not to be able to fix that in an area that has less than 1" of snow all winter.

Nice looking truck! My dad owns a 07 with the 5.3 liter, and it has pretty good power. Can only imagine with engine mods what yours is capable of. Ever thought of a "leveling kit"?

Check Engine Light (P1457 and P1457 PD)

Finally figured out why i kept getting P1457 CEL code coming on. After replacing the gas cap, canister carbon filter, canister vent shut off valve, I happened to notice that #26 rubber tube was torn in half after dry rotting. Now if I had done a thorough diagnosis to begin with I would have...

    Cigarette lighter port

I have never heard of a car battery going dead from charging a cell phone. Every car i have driven previously to my accord had a constant power to the cigarette port. I would leave it charging overnight and even a couple days without driving with no problems. This is the only internet search...

    Cigarette lighter port

I have noticed when using my cell phone car charger, it only powers on when then ignition is turned on. Is it because it uses switched power only? I tried searching but didn't find anything. It would be a lot more convient if my phone could charge while my key is out of the ignition.

    Brent's Hardwood Trunk/ Sub Build

Very unique and innovative style to your trunk. Is that laminate toungue and groove flooring or actual hardwood? I like how you used the MDF as an underlayment. Hope the glue bonded well. Did you put any rubber feet on your sub box? Just curious how you are gonna keep it from sliding around.

UPDATED!! F23A1AT's 1998 Accord Sedan UPDATED!! (56K bite my shiny metal A**)

First time I have checked out your ride. Looks super clean..love the color. Have you had two different suspension setups? Looks like in the newest pics, you are much lower than before.

What'd you do to your accord today?

You're car has never looked rice. You probably have the most practical everyday daily driver street tuned performace ride on this site. Just curious how you knew the cable was in such bad shape? Curiousity lead to visual inspection? ..or just felt sloopy in the shifter?

And this whole time I thought 12 point sockets were made just to give you more numbers of positions to use when a wrench is placed over them.

4:46 what do you call that style bolt head? German cars require special sockets? Crazy looking cylinders heads. I wonder how much the finished motor weighs?

    Bad multiplexor?

I also noticed the horn did sound after pressing the lock door button on my key fob like it used to.
