    f2314 to f23a1?

Good plan. The trans are the same between engines. The biggest difference is wiring pinouts, so swapping the ECU is a no-go.

Tore down the trans today and gave it a scrub. I couldn't find my gear puller to get the gear stacks apart, so I'll have to look for that tomorrow. I was very pleased with the condition of everything. It cleaned up easily, no rust inside, and everything rotated with very little effort. I...

Thanks for that info Devin! That's definitely an option I'll have to consider. I'm likely going to use a Marshall fluid filled gauge, but don't know about the pressure regulator yet. All the individuals I turn to for advice with the build (including my tuner) say to stay away from the AEM...

Thanks Devin. I did find another part number (25-106) that lists Acura CL 2.2/2.3 and Accord 94-02 2.2/2.3 as its applications. I might still have to rig it up though, so any help is appreciated.

Quick update with new parts: Ordered my turbo, FMIC, oil feed and drain lines, various flanges, mounting studs, and limited slip last night. Going to update my inventory spreadsheet today, and pick up a trans tomorrow. I'm looking at purchasing my ID1000 injectors today also, coupled with an...

I ordered the rest of the main bearings and thrust washers this morning. Also sent off the bare pistons to Swain Tech in NY to have their TBC ceramic coating applied to the crowns. I'd like to get their PC-9 coating on the skirts too, but that adds .002" diameter to the pistons. Even with the...

I just used Klean-strip Aircraft Paint Stripper to remove the excess paint from the block, then pressure washed it off. That stuff will eat through almost anything, so it works as a degreaser too. However, I wouldn't use that on anything rubber. If you can't strip the block, I'd just get a...

I'm neither delighted, nor disappointed... Began disassembling the new oil pump for modification. New hex head screws for precise torquing. As you can see, the philips head screws were stripping just from removal. The oil inlet that will be slightly...

ACL HX bearings are on the truck for delivery this morning. By my measurements, green OEM bearings should give me .0006" - .0008" clearance on the rods. With the HX bearings giving ~.001" more clearance than greens, I hope to see close to .0018" with the plastigage. It's not .0020", but I...

Confused over what? Thanks buddy. I'm hoping my numbers are well suited to my goals. There are plenty of B and D series builds to reference, but I haven't seen any F or H builds that actually check and re-check clearances to get them where they want. Everyone keeps saying that if the...

Thanks for the love guys. It's slowly taking form. Plastigaged #3 with half pink, half yellow. Think I'm right where I want to be with it now... So, with .0015-.0016 on #1, #2, & #4, ~.0018 on #3, and .0014" on #5, I think I'm finally right where I want to be with my mains. Now just...

Ok, time for some small updates! Work has been hell as we upgrade power and HVAC on our server floor and move equipment and cabling into new racks. When I get home, the last thing I've wanted to do is work on this car. However, I now have a deadline in which this needs to be finished, so the...

    Going for a re-tune.... (Round #2) Updated 10/28/13

Re: Going for a re-tune.... (updated 7/30/12 -- Dyno vid & info on Page 38) Much respect for taking the car elsewhere for tuning, Devin. Guys are making 400+ with stock ignition, TB, and IM, 750cc injectors, in-tank walbros and tubular log mani's like yours on stock block D16's. With a...

    EGR Block Off Plate

I don't see any benefit to blocking the EGR on stock engine that has already survived that many miles. My concern with the method Glassjaw presented is that the EGR valve would eventually become clogged, then you have a problem that didn't exist before the modification.

    Going for a re-tune.... (Round #2) Updated 10/28/13

Re: Going for a re-tune.... (updated 7/11/12 -- Kinda Tuned) You should be able present it to them in a way that isn't accusing, but still concerned that they weren't touched. I don't know what kind of tuner would charge for a tune and not touch ignition timing. If he said, "Hey, I'm not...

What is this bolt called? Small leak

That looks like the bolt that you remove to line up the rear balance shaft with a dowel. I'd pull it and replace that crush washer with a new one.

    Distributor Problem

Those tabs are very slightly off-center. You installed it 180* off and when the cam turned, it snapped those off. You need to pull the valve cover off and hope you can find them and remove any debris without them falling down the oil holes into the block.

    JDMCG3's N/A H22 Build (Last Update: 03/12/2012)

I've always favored the H23a1 for a swap, though I wouldn't be so quick to up your numbers. With the longer stroke of the H23 you'll make more torque, but your power band is lower than the H22, meaning you won't be zinging as high for peak HP numbers. Less HP, better power band. It's a...

    Going for a re-tune.... (Round #2) Updated 10/28/13

Re: Going for a re-tune.... (updated 5/16/12) Sounds as if the starter solenoid isn't extending the drive gear properly/consistently, but hadn't you already replaced the whole starter once before?
