    N/A to FI: AFAccord's 10:1 Comp Turbo F23 Build Thread/Restoration

Hey bro, thanks for dropping in! I'm really looking forward to finishing this project, but I know it's going to be a while. New wiring inside the car, cleaning up the engine bay, re-wrapping the engine harness, front brake upgrade, new retrofit, new tails, new exhaust, new OE lip kit...

    N/A to FI: AFAccord's 10:1 Comp Turbo F23 Build Thread/Restoration

Re: N/A to FI: AFAccord's Modest Turbo Build (attempt) Just to confirm: Tonight I pulled the wrist-pin retainer out of on side of a stock piston, and put the piston and rod in a pot of water and heated it almost to a boil. I pulled them out and put a 14mm deep socket on the opposite side...

Anyone that can shine some light on ECU/OBD data

Ahh... didn't see that the first time I read it on my phone. That's still a bit on the hot side. Normally I like to see 184-194, maybe up to 200 on a hot day. Fuel trim being negative is not a definitive indicator of a problem. +10/-10 is pretty normal. Stock Honda ECU's run pretty rich...

FX35 Retrofit slowly in progress, LOTS of pics

That projector is huge brah... I like the recessed look from the front, but not at the expense of cutting the back.

Anyone that can shine some light on ECU/OBD data

Your ECT goes from 101 to 109, meaning your car is warming up (~180 is normal operating temp), and your ECU is dumping fuel as it should. What's the problem here?

    AFAccord's First 3.2ch Listening Room/Home Theater

Yeah, I prefer dual subs to a single. "Bass is omni-directional" as most anyone will tell you, but that doesn't mean you won't have hot spots and dead spots around the room. It might be the vaulted ceilings, but this room has so many nulls and peaks in it. When I'm sitting at the computer in...

    N/A to FI: AFAccord's 10:1 Comp Turbo F23 Build Thread/Restoration

Given the option to choose my exact compression with forged components, I think I would actually go with the stock 9.3 or maybe a little higher at 9.5:1. In reality, that's still a relatively low static compression, and plenty safe to boost on while making the car pleasantly streetable out of...

Yep, if you don't mind my 'retrofit station' and masking tape on the walls. :) Thanks. :) I'm excited to get the FI setup running. Should be tons of fun, and hopefully a little less work if I do everything right.

    AFAccord's First 3.2ch Listening Room/Home Theater

Thanks. Life's given me a number of challenges in the past few years. I've learned a lot about who I am and who my true friends are. I'm currently on the upswing, and hoping to stay this way if at all possible. You wouldn't have liked my setup so much if you would have had to do the...

    N/A to FI: AFAccord's 10:1 Comp Turbo F23 Build Thread/Restoration

That's a very interesting and compelling treatment, but it's more for friction reduction and strengthening parts against fatigue failure. Had I gone with stock rods, I definitely would have had them shot-peened, or WPC treated to strengthen them a bit. But with these forged components, I don't...

    AFAccord's First 3.2ch Listening Room/Home Theater

It really is a great way to save money IMO (after the initial investment of course)... My favorite part of it all is controlling everything with my iPad/iPhone. I still use the PS3 for Netflix/Hulu streaming because it provides 1080p content (720p just isn't enough resolution for a screen...

    N/A to FI: AFAccord's 10:1 Comp Turbo F23 Build Thread/Restoration

I think the higher compression pistons will create enough quench to provide at least some slight anti-detonation qualities since it should be much 'tighter' with the combustion chamber and therefore a more efficient burn. I'm going to surface and prep the pistons really well following the...

I can't take credit for the Altoid can idea. I just ordered a pre-drilled tin and a blank circuit board, with all the components I needed to make it work well with my headphones and assembled it on my bench at work. Thanks! Yep, there are write-ups across the net, just search "cMoy amp"...

It's all about priorities I guess, unless you're just filthy rich. Thanks. That's actually a custom amplifier for the headphones. I wanted a good way to experience my music when I was in Afghanistan, and portable audio is the only option. I've had those headphones for almost six years...

    AFAccord's First 3.2ch Listening Room/Home Theater

Hello all! This is my first true attempt at a home theater other than the typical HTIB. Honestly, it's geared more towards a 2.1 style 'music theater' than a movie theater, though I do like my eye-candy. :) So here's the equipment list: Sharp Aquos 60" LED TV Pioneer VSX-1021-K Receiver...

Not to say anything bad about Bisimoto, but Bisi's 'stuff' are just rebadged components made to his specs. Pistons by Arias, cams by Webcams, not sure who makes the rods, but I don't think they're made in house. The companies that provide the parts have built their own reputations from...

For customization and getting a setup with the exact specs you want at a great price, this is an awesome opportunity. However, I'm firm in my belief that no one has the upper hand on absolute quality and proven design that companies like Wiseco and Crower offer. Plus, I still have to see if...

    N/A to FI: AFAccord's 10:1 Comp Turbo F23 Build Thread/Restoration

Well, I'm diving into a whole new world of knowledge with engine assembly and forced induction. It's been nearly two years since I've done more than a simple oil change on this car, so I'm having to relearn many tasks that used to be common sense to me. And yeah, these shorts need to go...

I spoke to Julio @ Bisimoto this morning. The answer to your question is yes. They moved the wristpin up, lowering the compression height of the piston to compensate for the extra rod length. I'm contemplating whether or not to return my Crower/Wiseco pieces to go this route...
