Right... I would get a back to back comparison if I had the cam on hand anyway. But yeah, I might have to figure out some way to get the cam swapped and tuned after I leave. I just hate not being there for that kind of stuff, especially if something goes wrong.
I've already spoken to Bisi about a custom cam, but it really depends on funds and timing whether I'll order it or not. Parts have been taking their sweet time coming in, so I don't want to put money into something that might not get here in time. I also really don't need to cut myself short...
Some photos from this past weekend.
Radiator Mounted
Clayed the motor. Apparently with the K20 pistons, p2v clearance isn't even remotely an issue.
Those are the 'after' photos. Apparently the smaller valves of the F23 don't even come close to the the larger valve reliefs of the...
I may not need it once the car is in Germany, but I'd love to see the naysayers survive a summer in SC without it (especially with black leather seats).
Ah, I gotcha. I'll have to see which way works best for me on the pass side. My intake piping of course goes down the opening where the stock airbox sits. That might make for a bit cleaner appearance having the one pipe leaving the engine bay, but would also make for a longer route. I'll...
Thanks for the input. I know I can't flip the turbo with the compressor on the driver's side because there's really no way to retain the A/C that way, so the compressor will have to be on the pass side. I've accepted that there will have to be a 90 coming straight off the turbo.
Say I have...
Thanks for the pics. I'm primarily looking for what's going on behind the bumper; where the pipes are entering/exiting the bay, and routing around the radiator support. From what I can tell so far, the mental image I have in my head is pretty different from what I've seen here on the forum.
Is there any other option? I did buy a new cool air intake for the purpose of having a single piece from the TB down to the stock air-box area behind the bumper.
EDIT: Now that I say that, I'm sure someone could find a 'kit' on eBay, but I don't really consider that a viable alternative to...
I haven't seen many clear photos showing how everyone chooses to route their piping and mount the FMIC. I'm looking for photos of front mount intercoolers and charge pipe setups, as well as reviews pros/cons of your particular setup (ie. clearance issues with piping and bumper cover) to make...
Re: Going for a re-tune.... (updated 7/30/12 -- Dyno vid & info on Page 38)
I might be willing to sell my stock coupe tails Devin. They're not broken or damaged in any way. I did polish and buff them a while back, but they could use it again. Not really sure what to ask for them, but I'd be...
With 8.4 compression, how long do you intend to run this setup? I second the vote for K20 pistons. OEM K20a2 would put you at 11.5, and would be a great candidate for type-S cams, shot peened F23 rods, RDX injectors and a Euro-R manifold.
It was a three-day weekend for me, and I had a long list of things to accomplish on the car. Unfortunately, I had to deal with broken ignition coil wires on my daily driver, which killed a good 5 hours of daylight. Here's what I actually managed to do:
Unloaded the car from the trailer...
I don't think they list that combo on their website. They introduced it last year at a discounted price, but its probably gone up a little since then.
That sucks. The last apartment I lived in included a garage, which was sooo nice. Maybe find a storage place with power in the unit?
I won't be removing the whole piece like that since I want to retail my AC, but I'll be cutting out the radiator support portion to move it for mounting the half radiator.
Re: AKoutmos Part Out
I might be interested in buying the IC piping, BOV, and catch can if you decide to part it out, but I don't have long. I've gotta buy this stuff ASAP so I can get my setup running. PM me a price for those if you can split it up.
I know you said you're trying not to spend much money, but I'd really like to see someone do a G23 VTEC with the longer rods/short compression height pistons that bisi offers. That'd make good use of the F23's stroke, while greatly improving the r/s ratio of the block. You could even order the...
The car and all parts are three hours away, so I'll be making progress on the weekends. This weekend is a 3-day, but I haven't received some of my parts I was hoping would come in (clutch, manifold pipes). I'll be swapping out brake lines for braided stainless ones, and painting/installing the...
Re: Going for a re-tune.... (updated 7/30/12 -- Dyno vid & info on Page 38)
Gotcha. I've only found one photo so far. It's an old photo, but it's the best I have for now.
I wanted it in a box so I didn't have to worry about throwing stuff on top of it. Also, when I open the trunk...

What did you need a new bung for?
I relocated my battery to the trunk. I have an Optima Red Top (might get a yellow top if this one dies) mounted in a plastic battery box that you can find at O'reillys or...
