Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Actually the problem was from me, retardedly I might add, installing that L-bracket thing (that's behind the intake manifold) in-between the intake manifold instead of between the bolt and the manifold. I think that gap in the intake manifold was causing the issue...a vacuum leak situation if...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Well, just an update for you guys (if anyone cares). The car runs and idles much better. I think the fluctuating idle yesterday (only did it twice) had to do with the air in the coolant??? I'm not too brilliant in these things  So anyway, car is running much better. Smoother idle...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Yeah, I know where the bleeder thing is. I haven't bleed the system, but everything seems to be OK. I've driven the car about 50 miles or so and no issues yet. No overheating, and most importantly no CEL. :peace: Thank you for the quick heads up on how to get rid of the air in the system...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Alright, so to bleed/burp it from what I gather is to just barely undo the screw while the car is running and wait till I get a steady stream of coolant? ALSO...The problem has been fixed!!! It was me installing that stupid L bracket in-between the manifold. Pretty brilliant huh? I'm just...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

that's a lot of air!!! LOL...well, I couldn't really hear any air sounds while the car was revving up and down...I didn't replace the gasket on the intake manifold as it looked just fine. Sooo...Well, I have a friend coming over to help me refill my coolant if the car stops revving up and down...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Alright, so I think I figured out the problem. There is a small L shaped bracket on the back of the intake manifold. It's just holding a hose...I might've (meaning did) install that sandwiched between the upper and lower portion of the manifold when I put it all back together. Hopefully...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Well, i'm sober and looking at everything and everything looks like it's connected. No loose hoses or anything that I can see. I pretty much don't have any radiator fluid left, but don't think that could be causing my car to do this... I'll take off the intake manifold again to see if...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Haha, last time I was drinking + working on my car (installing a car stereo system around midnight, this was in the late 90's) I hooked the pos to the neg and the neg to the pos on an amplifier. It was dark, I was drunk, and obviously the amp fried. I think I'll wait till morning to work on...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Alright, will do! It's so strange how it goes to exactly 4k then back down to 1.5k. Hopefully it is something as simple as a hose not connected or something. I may have a few drinks in me right now, so messing under the hood of my car probably isn't the best idea. :omghi2u: Oh yeah, and...

Engine revving from 1.5k to 4k after cleaning intake/egr

Alright, so I followed this thread-- http://www.6thgenaccord.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14582&highlight=p0401 To clean out the intake manifold/egr port. It all went fine taking everything apart. It took a little longer than expected, but didn't really have any issues, except getting the...
