Alright, so to bleed/burp it from what I gather is to just barely undo the screw while the car is running and wait till I get a steady stream of coolant?

ALSO...The problem has been fixed!!! It was me installing that stupid L bracket in-between the manifold. Pretty brilliant huh? I'm just happy the car is running normal again!!! Hopefully no more CEL with the clean EGR/manifold....we'll see though. I DID rev the engine to about 4k and when I let off the gas the car ALMOST died then went back to normal idle. :boohoo:

Thanks for the help everyone, this is a great forum with great people! I appreciate your time and efforts!

No to bleed the system you should take the radiator cap off and loosen the bleeder screw coolant will start to come out of it eventually(when the air is gone it's a small hole). Slowly fill the radiator neck until only coolant comes out of the bleeder no bubbles. most people don't know where the bleeder is have you found yours?

Yeah, I know where the bleeder thing is. I haven't bleed the system, but everything seems to be OK. I've driven the car about 50 miles or so and no issues yet. No overheating, and most importantly no CEL. :peace:

Thank you for the quick heads up on how to get rid of the air in the system. I'll give it a shot on my next weekend, sooner if there are any issues this work week.

Well, just an update for you guys (if anyone cares). The car runs and idles much better. I think the fluctuating idle yesterday (only did it twice) had to do with the air in the coolant??? I'm not too brilliant in these things

So anyway, car is running much better. Smoother idle, better acceleration, and NO MORE P0401...however the P1457 popped back up, which isn't a huge deal. I already had a vent shutoff valve from when this whole mess started (thought that was the problem, but further research led me here and to clean the intake manifold/EGR).

Here's hoping that part solves the P1457...I've done a search here and everything points to either the vent shutoff valve or the PCM. Hopefully this'll be the right part! :run:

I looked at your problem in your first post. It was most likely from a sensor getting wet from the cleaner you used. I've had issues like that when I accidentally got it wet from the cleaner. After a day or so, it stopped the pulsing idle.

Actually the problem was from me, retardedly I might add, installing that L-bracket thing (that's behind the intake manifold) in-between the intake manifold instead of between the bolt and the manifold. I think that gap in the intake manifold was causing the issue...a vacuum leak situation if you will.

The idle variation yesterday was the car stalling a bit then recovering. Only did it twice.

We'll see if there is a CEL tomorrow with this vent shutoff valve installed for the P1457 fault.
