Stock struts are not designed for sleeves or lowering springs.
Most company's recommend replacing struts after 50k.
I would say it was a combination of worn out struts n the springs causing the strut to compress more then it should
The factory one has an offset inlet and outlet.
You would just have to buy 1 and have it welded in any muffler shop would be able to do it for about $40

So what do u have a v6 or a I4? U were talkin about a swap, the sub frames on these cars are not very I4 to v6 or v6 to I4 friendly but I'm sure we all could help
I'm wondering if the piston came all the way out? If it did u need 2 replace the seals & make sure every thing is ok in there before put every thing back together.
