    Sway Bar Size FAQ

Despite what is written in this thread the solid 27.2 mm Acura TL-S front bar doesn't fit 4 cylinder cars--at least not mine with its aftermarket welded-in catalytic converter. I have the bar, bushings, and brackets in new condition if anyone else is interested.

    Driver side door stuck!

The parts arrived and the door is back to working correctly. For whoever else has this problem here are the parts you are likely to need: 1 Sedan driver's door latch: 72150-S84-A02 ~$91 Includes power lock actuator that you don't need) 2 Door panel clip: 91560-S84-A01 ~$2 each However many...

    Driver side door stuck!

Tonight I was able to get the latch open using the method detailed in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrQbNaH1wpI This morning I tried unsuccessfully with a set of picks, but once I made a similar wire tool to the one shown in the video I had the door open in a few minutes. Now I...

    Driver side door stuck!

I got the panel off, verified the latch is at fault, and ordered the new parts. I haven't opened the door yet though.

    Driver side door stuck!

My driver's door latch had the same issue. I haven't fixed it yet--I'm still doing research. Basically the latch breaks and you can either pick at it after removing the door panel, attempt to carefully drill part of the latch, or completely destroy the latch and remove the pieces. Here are...

    Sway Bar Size FAQ

Front toe out can produce this effect.

    Trailer hitch yay or nay?

I've towed a 4' x 8' utility trailer with my '89 Accord occasionally for the last several years. Just keep the tongue weight and total weight down and you'll be fine. The receiver isn't invisible, but without the hitch, it's not very noticeable.

    Cylinders 1-5 Misfiring!

Re: Oil Inside Intake I don't see how the EGR system could contribute to this problem. The EGR valve controls the flow from the exhaust to the intake--the crankcase is not involved.

    AEM 2pc rotors

It's not the area of the pad, it's the forces and where they are applied that makes the difference. The master cylinder/caliper combination squeezes the pads against the rotor with a force roughly proportional to the force on the brake pedal. I'll use some numbers to illustrate: Assume 1"...

    AEM 2pc rotors

With more tire grip your would need to press harder on the pedal to achieve maximum braking. The extra grip would allow you to slow down faster. However, for the first stop you still wouldn't really benefit from a modified brake system assuming the stock system has a decent front to rear...

    Possible Sensor Issue?

Sounds like it could be the TPS. Why not pull the code and see what the ECU thinks. You've checked that all the wire harnesses connectors are fully seated too, right?

    14in Tire Sizes?

Why do you want the biggest size that will fit? Why not the standard size 195/70-14?

    AEM 2pc rotors

Since the caliper is moved outward the brake torque is increased. This will reduce the pedal effort to get the same braking force as the stock system on the front axle. This change also would alter the front to rear brake balance (front lockup even earlier than stock), and add rotating...

    Suspension clunk, can speak car

Give it a try. The parts were cheap--it's just a hassle to deal the the spring compressor.

    1999 Accord ex sedan, leaking!!

I had a leak that looked a lot like that. I found some of the power steering hose clamps needed to be tightened a bit. How is your power steering fluid level?

    Disable Alarm?

My experience with broken alarms is that you must remove them to get everything to work like it did before the alarm was installed. What about fixing the cause of the problem? Have you opened the door up to look for an obvious problem like a short cause by corrosion?

    Suspension clunk, can speak car

I had a noise like the one you describe going over bumps. I found both of my front bumpstops were bad. I replaced them and the upper and lower rubber bushings in the shock mounts and the noise is gone. My outer tie rod ends were also going, but replacing them did not affect my noise.

    baffling oil consumption

Bad oil control rings aren't too uncommon on these engines. Hopefully it's something else though.

    Alignment Specs Explanation/Decryption

There's not much to adjust on these cars with the factory parts--just front and rear toe. The final settings for toe look good. Zero toe for the front will give good turn in response and the slight toe-in on the rear will add a little stability when cornering. Some people prefer a little...

Camshaft, crank, and balance shaft seals are all potential culprits.

FS: Need to sale KMS retainers, springs, and guides! for F23

Re: Everything is going in the trash. Buy it now I'm still interested in the intake tube an a few trim pieces. Check your PM box.

    Steering Response

If the stock endlinks are in good shape they have negligible compliance. You won't notice a difference changing to the Moogs. The front shock towers are already tied directly to the firewall so a shock tower bar is also unlikely to make a difference either. I'm not sure what you mean by best...

    A bunch of crap

My brother's 2002 Accord had the same issue. Bad rings put enough oil into the cat to destroy it. If you can do the work yourself it's several hundred for parts assuming you have the head checked over and do the timing belt and water pump at the same time. If you're paying for the work having...

FS: Need to sale KMS retainers, springs, and guides! for F23

Re: my new fs thread.. I'm interested in the climate control, the lower driver's side dash trim and maybe the sunglasses holder. Would you be willing to sell just the long tube part of the intake that connects the filter box to the throttle body? Does it have any cracks? Are you parting out...
