The radio/CD player in my accord stopped working. No one knows when or why of course. None of the bottons work and the following error "code E " is all that shows on the screen. Anyone know what this means? Can it be fixed?

thanks

I get this a lot at my work. You have to put your keys in the ignition and turn it once. Then press 1 and 6 together at the same time. Afterwards you press power while holding 1 and 6. It should show up with a 8 digit code which shows you 4 digits at once. Write it down then call a Honda dealership and provide them with your car vin or whatever they ask for to show proof of ownership and the code you got from the radio.

Lol i got that when I changed my battery & pressed random
Buttons so ot locked me out. I Believe disconnecting the battery for about a minute or so & reconnecting it resets the radio so you can enter the code. Most codes can be found in the glove box.

the code as said above can be found in some of those locations but not always. originally your car should have came with a card with the code on it, but if you bought the car used you probably don't have it.

What Younglemon is describing is how to get the serial for the radio, and since that serial is associated with your car, then when you give honda that and your vin they can verify that it is yours and give you the code

i took mine to honda and they did it for free, but sometimes i heard of ppl being charged 100 dollars cuz they had to pull out the radio.
anyway there have been threads on this so use the search tool

Found the card with the code.
Disconnected the battery. Waited a minute.
Reconnected the battery.
Turned key until power came on.
Turned on radio.
Entered code.
Music started to play!

I'm a happy camper.
Thanks
