Hello everyone, i have a 2001 accord ex sedan 4cyl... ive been browsing for a while now about whether to go with 17" or 18" rims and lowering the car between 2-3" all around. and putting a nice set of low profile tires on. and im worried about whether i will have to roll my fenders and im just trying to avoid that having to be done but still getting an awesome look. But i guess if it had to be done i will do it.. But figured i would get my advice from the experts first. Also, would lowering springs be a better choice being i live in a city area? and bound to encounter a few potholes here and thr, cuz im still looking to keep the smooth ride. I cannot wait to start adding to this car! Thanks

Well. I'm not an expert. But as long as you tires aren't too aggressively wide, 8 inches or below, You shouldn't have to roll fenders with 17 or 18's. Of course if you're actually slamming it you probably will. As for ride quality to make it still smooth... someone else can answer that.

and still be able to lower it just say 3" without the tires rubbing in any way? On turns, etc...

No. In that case, at least usually, they would need a minor roll. Probably, atleast.

No springs will lower your car 3" and keep a comfortable ride.

If I were you just get some Tien Basic, they won't slam your car, but they will get you low enough to now worry about scrapping all over bumps. They also have good ride quality aswell.

If you get something, lets say 17x8 with 35+ offset, you won't need to roll you fenders, but I would do a slight roll just incase. This also depends on how low you are aswell.

Im on 17s with 50 series tires and lowered my car this past weekend. Im very happy with the ride quality ( ff type 1 ). I drive my vehicle daily and think this a very attractive yet functional setup. I lowered mine just enough to kill the boat look.

I have 18" rims with a width of 8" with a 40 profile tire but 17" rims with a 45 profile and a small stretch always looks good too

Ride height and rim/tire specs are what determine potential fender work.

Just spend some more time searching and and you will know whether you want coilovers or a spring/shock suspension upgrade.

Love the blue. :)

Well the best possible thing you can do right now is give me your alloys.

Then after you do that, look into some Tein coilovers if you're really determined on keeping a soft ride. I suggest coilovers because you'll want the adjustability, trust me.
