How to tint the back lights..DIY

Sup guys, am thinkin bout tintin the rear lights on my 99 coupe..been lokin around in the DIY but cant find nothin. Also where can I get the film or w/e it is I got to use. Any help will be appreciated. I plan on doin this along with DIY black headlights within 2 weeks.. thanx

1. Buy can of spray tint at hobby store
2. Take tails off car
3. Tape what you dont want tinted
4. Spray tails
5. Put tails back on car.
6. Have your girl go make you a sandwich and sit down and watch the Cops marathon on Court TV

Thats how I did it anyway.

OK, I did this DIY, I just wanna know if your tails have the orange peel effect. If not what did you do to make the tails nice and shiny and smooth?

^ Paint preparation. Wet sanding, or sanding. Then few coats of primer and clear.

Kick *** paint..................glossy finish, no orange peel.

i did mine two days ago and just sprayed. no primer no clear coat no sanding. It looks perfect. 3 coats of "Pactra racing finish" window tint.

I just check out your Members Ride thread to see how dark you got yours, and from the looks of it, you blacked out the top part entirely. How many times did you spray it? Since mine is a coupe, I wanted to just get a slightly darker red.. so I won't get pulled over for that ****..
