so we went ahead and screwed it onto the points on the wheel wells, just to see how screwed up it was....and as you can see, even without the ridiculously horrible cutting job i did, there's still a huge gap.

I followed the how-to post, but obviously the template i printed was MUCH bigger than what it should have been. I have to walk downstairs and outside to my parking lot, so instead of measuring perfectly i decided to trust my template and cut it upstairs before taking it down to my car.

It looks like the wheel well points should have been pushed back further, towards the trunk. I put a few washers in to add more space, but still nope. I've given up on this; took it off and called it a loss.

Gotta say though, from certain angles that looked great...until you see the massive 2 inch gap lol....guess i'll wait til someone makes one 02 specific...

alright....got the flame suit on. Lets hear it. I'm a moron; i'm aware lol.....

Dude never trust a template. Always measure yourself

Cover up the gaps with a couple peices of black ducktape and then sand the rest and paint the whole thing

i have some bondo, but im not gonna try to fill in the gaps because as soon as i get moving the wind will flex it and the bondo will crack like dry wall plaster. ive basically given up on it and decided to wait until baysonr or someone comes out with an exact fit...

gotta say, from certain angles there i LOVED the way it looked....if only it fit flush....

i know i f'd up cutting it, but even if i did nothing it would still have the gap since it looked like it needed to be mounted further back in the wheel wells. Or maybe thats just me trying to make myself feel better lol....:dumb:

Actually, I'm not sure what you think you were doing considering the DIY and template is meant for fitting a mugen or type r lip for a 98-00 coupe to a 01-02 coupe. Fitting the 98-00 OE style lip to a 01-02 coupe would have different directions. Not much different, but considering how much you blindly relied on that template, let's just say its significantly different.

The oe style lip is different because it wraps aroundt he bumper much more specifically than the other two, which mount a little lower.

btw the FRP oem replica full kit is problematic. the side skirts are too short and would require custom fitting them, including either custom lengthening them, custom shortening your stock sideskirts (since these have to go over the stock ones, too flimsy otherwise), and require making custom mounting brackets. Unless you are comfortable paying a shop to do that labor, I wouldn't recommend it to you.

I'm pretty sure the oe 98-00 replica rear can fit without much issues, but will require a little trimming.

I'll post a pic tonight after work, but it sounds like what you all are describing. I'd love to get the full kit, front sides and back, but I wanna verify everything will fit correctly after I post pics first. Thanks for all the help!!

Yeah Drowzee, I know that. I was helping him out based on this comment earlier in the thread. guess you missed it.
