I have a set of 195/55/R15 tires that I'm pulling from my other car that I want to put on my 2001 Accord EX-L V6 Sedan with stock wheels. The current tires are 205/65/R15 and based on my calculations I will be losing 1 inch of sidewall height and 0.4 inches of width and my speedo will definitely be off. I was talking to my shop during my alignment today and they said that if I go too small I will be risking ABS issues due to the way the computer calculates ABS in relation to velocity.

Do you guys know if this small of a tire size will negatively affect the way the car handles or even stops. I know that there was mention of a wider tire being used due to the heavier V6 engine. I just want to make sure I don't create any handling or safety issues by going to such a small tire. I plan on adding ground controls with koni yellows this summer to drop the body down a little and close the gap.

Dont even run those small tires.

I ran 195/60-15 on my stock and they looked skinny as ****.

Run correct tire size or try to find something closer.

Don't do it. On top of it looking goofy as hell, it has a few mechanical setbacks. Including speedo mis reading. Roughly 10% slower in your case.

I was hoping to use my existing practically brand new tires since they are coming off a car I sold. Looks wise doesn't bother me, but mechanical issues are what I'm concerned with. Is the speedo the only issue?

You should be ok as those aren't too far off of what you have on there. Wasn't aware the V6s came in a 15" tire...
