2, 4 and 6 speakers

i have an 01 ex, folding mirrors and 6 speakers... wohoo! (eventhough i don't fold my sidemirrors)

My 98 DX Sedan came with 4 speakers. The 6 1/2s in the front doors and the tweeters in the dash. Now I'm just wondering if I can cut out the cardboard in the rear locations and leave the carpet.
