2000 accord v6 stuck in park please help!!

like it says on the title my accord is stuck in park also my brake lights doesn't go on when i press down on the pedal. i dnt know what it could be please help..

check your fuse for the brake lights...something like that happened to me where i shorted the brake lights out and i couldnt get it out of park. But to get it out of park there is something your can put your key in next to the gear shifter and put it into N so you can start your car. GL

What does starting your car have to do with it? You can start the car in park too...as you always do


OP check either brake switch or shift interlock if all the fuses turn out to be ok (check under the hood(engine bay) fuse box and both pass.driver sides)

I guess my post never went through this morning.

Its the stop/cruise switch. It's like $40 from Honda.

well i got it to work again, i dont know how but im assuming that i need to replace it soon. but anyways thanks for the help.

its the brake switch thats loose if you got it to work without fixing anything. same thing happened to mine couple months ago. i tightened the switch and the problem has not come back since.
