Actually he can get a ticket for that ... obstruction of view ... If a cop really wants to he can pretty much give you a ticket for having your eyes open while driving lolz

(a) (1) If any Class A (passenger) vehicle, any Class E truck with a manufacturer’s rating or registered gross vehicle weight of 18,000 pounds or less, or any Class M (multipurpose) vehicle has been altered in any manner that would reduce the effectiveness of its bumpers or suspension or render the vehicle dangerous in the event of a single vehicle accident or a collision with another vehicle, it may not be operated on any highway in this State.

If anything adding a lip kit would give more resistance to impact because you would be adding material. For suspension, I guess there's a bit of danger, but I really only think this would apply if you slam the car to the ground. If you lower it a couple inches, no one in an authoritative position will really notice.

(b) A person may not operate a vehicle on any highway in the State if, as a result of post-manufacture alterations, the height of the vehicle’s frame side rails or either of the vehicle’s bumpers exceeds:
(1) In the case of a Class A (passenger) vehicle, 20 inches;

This pertains to how tall the bumpers are, so if you lowered the car, this would not apply.

The only thing that really attracts attention to cars are obnoxious paint jobs and stickers. I think you'll be okay.

civics have a bad name with pretty much every local/state law enforcement agency in the country because they are way more commonly modified and raced illegally than accords. accords get a little slack i feel since not as many are associated with deaths and street races. we know are cars are heavy and underpowered. as long as your not painting your car neon orange, green or some crazy color and don't have some uber cheap huge body kit, or super loud exhaust you won't attract too much attention.

i live and work just outside of DC on the VA side. i'm lowered 2.25 inches in the back 2.5ish in the front with a full lip kit. no tickets.

Modified lighting such as retro's and aftermarket HID's on a car that didn't come stock with them is illegal. at least inspection wise, i have HID's and many around here have retro's, i never have and don't know anyone that has gotten a ticket, failed inspection, or harassed for them.

as for suspension, just buy legit coils, shock/springs, no cheap knock off sleeves or ebay springs, and DO NOT CUT SPRINGS, the companies that make these products (the reputable ones) have put lots of time money and research into their products. stick to good companies and you won't have legal issues either. they are allowed to sell their products for a reason. they are meant to ENHANCE performance on the street, not hurt it.

The Law said:
If any Class A (passenger) vehicle, any Class E truck with a manufacturer’s rating or registered gross vehicle weight of 18,000 pounds or less, or any Class M (multipurpose) vehicle has been altered in any manner that would reduce the effectiveness of its bumpers or suspension or render the vehicle dangerous in the event of a single vehicle accident or a collision with another vehicle
basically saying you cant remove the support behind the bumpers or cut your springs

Just don't go crazy stupid with ridiculous mods and you should be good in this area.

Yeah I'm trying to go for any over the top crazy obnoxious mods or colors, just want my car to feel like my own. Not putting exhaust on for that reason and its just loud so dont see the point.

Just so happened I was riding with my friend and he got pulled over about an hour ago so I talked with the cop and he basically gave me the thumbs up saying 99% of cops wouldnt pull over an accord, just warned me about the exhaust and not to go darker that 35% tint

So now it comes time for the pricing and purchasing to begin

Updated OP with a quick pic, cant get the rest to upload right now.

But that about shows you everything right now. Guess I'll try and start up a members ride thread once I can get the rest of the pics uploaded. I hope to start working on this in the next week or two so I'll keep that thread up to date
