2011 mid-atlantic meet planning thread.

oh ya bishes its that time of year again. who's down for yet another year of awesome meets??

ok first off we need to establish a when. I assume everyone's gonna wanna BBQ again like we usually do. so that means paul has to come so he can cook for us

so far I have plans for the weekend of may 7th, the weekend of may 14th, the weekend of june 4th and the weekend of june 18th. so those dates are out. other then that pretty much any weekend is good for me.

also we need idea's for some parks. I really liked that one we went to last year where it poured randomly. I believe it was pohick bay. It was easy for everyone to get their cars into and the location we got last year to eat was well shaded so it wasn't to hot and imo was pretty enjoyably.

anyone with ideas for this shoot them here. once we decide on a place and time I'll make a new thread and have it sticky'd so everyone can just post there saying whether or not the can make. I'd do that in this thread but as usual with this group I'm sure there will be tons of shenanigans to fill up the pages making it hard for newer guys to figure out whats going on.

i liked pohick too, but the thing with that one was to get the shelter it was like 100 dollar rental for the day. and with as few people showed to that meet it was almost unnecessary. so if that was gonna happen again then we'd have to have a guarenteed good turn out, and everyone throw down on the shelter. i really can't afford to pay for it all this year. need the money for my build and school. otherwise i'd be for it. i went to a meet that was organized as a result of the UMD meet at fedex feild being canceled. it was at occoquan regional park. huge lot, nice treeline for shade, also right off the river. might be something to look into. but it is in fiarfax county still, so i don't know if the shelters are free to use or what. and i didn't see the shelter itself due to the massive amount of cars there. i'm retty sure tommy was there, or at least pulling out when i was, i think that was his car i saw a few ahead of me leaving the park, i'll wait for him to chime in.

and i know saturdays are impossible for me to make it to anything due to my lovely 13 hour shifts. sundays still work.

Haha I thought I saw u! But I wasn't too sure because I only saw the front of your car.

Occoquan is a good place for a meet, big lot and has 2 grills I think

your *** tailed me for like a mile to my dad's house one day.

I totally forgot there was a fee for that. we don't necessarily need the shelter though just need to make sure we have a grill. this other park would be cool though if you guys think it would work. I'm always down for a new location.

sundays work for me too I'm usually not doing anything and once I have a job I'll definitely be making sure I have sundays off to spend with sarah anyway.


so may 29th, june 12th or june 26th? those days should all work for me.

Yea I think I saw your car Slowrider Black coupe at Occoquan park lol with the blackhoused headlights. That place was really nice, although I think you only need to let the park manager know and that you wanna reserve a couple spots, which is why you probably saw people leaving because they didn't let him know. But I"m sure just letting him know will be fine.
