I kept on searching around and couldn't find the answer for the life of me.

I just bought a pair of Infinity Kappa 63.9i 3-Way 6 3/4" speakers. On Crutchfield they say that they fit 6 1/2" openings, but when I "Outfit My Car" they say they will not fit. I was wondering if anyone has installed them before and it they fit okay?

Here is the link to them:

Sorry if they question has been asked before. I am a n00b

I have 6 3/4 Polk audios in my front.. they fit fine.. i dont think you will have an issue..but its not a big space to dremel.. the only issue i would worry about is the magnets hitting the back side.. but let us know if they fit..

be like it is
easy fit, you wont need to cut anything but a 5/8" or 3/4" spacer if the speakers dont come with one that will work. the cutout diameter is only 5 1/8" so that's child's play :lawl:

or go to car-speaker-adapters.com or search on ebay if you dont mind waiting a couple weeks for a pair.

Thanks for all the input! I should be getting them (hopefully) by the end of this week and install them this weekend. I also bought a pair of 6x9 Kappas for the rear deck also

The speaker did end of fitting after a little engineering. They did came with spacers which I ended up using just in case. I was only able to actually only use one of the hole on the door to screw in the spacer. With the other 3 holes, I ended up using washers and screws to wedge it in tightly (hard to explain without pictures).

I currently have a stock head unit and after installing both front and rear, it seems like there is less bass. Do you guys think it might be the stock head unit? The stock speakers were 4 ohm and so are the new Kappas. And the only reason I am trying to hold off on getting a head unit is because I know like 6+ people who have gotten their cars broken into just because they have an aftermarket radio. This is only going on around where I go to school.

And thanks for the help again guys!

Update: I bought an Alpine head unit which is waiting to be installed because I am waiting for an installation kit to come in from Best Buy because they didn't have any double DIN kits in stock in store? Apparently they are "rare". But I did some research on Crutchfield and BestBuy.com and was able to do some price matching and get a free Alpine iPod cable. I didn't know I was able to negotiate that much at a Best Buy (a little flitting with the manager probably helped too). I ended up saving about $50 on installation stuff and iPod cable.
And about two hours ago, I bidded on an Alpine "Power Pack" and won it for $75.50 shipped. Hopefully I will be able to have everything installed by Thursday if everything gets here on time in the mail.
