I am having problems with my temp gauge. Instead of going through all the things to trouble shoot it I just want to add an aftermarket.

Does anyone know what that thread size is for the temp sender? Or do you know a good place to buy an aftermarket gauge.

I *think* it's 1/8 BSPT.

Maybe that's just oil pressure, so it may be 1/8 NPT...

Or I'm totally wrong.

Depending on your car it may be used by the ECM too though, in which case I'd add one, not replace one.

aight, I think that has at least 3 sensors...

1 for the gauge
1 for the ECM (called ECT)
1 for the fan (called a switch)

So you prolly wanna swap the one for the gauge, but I might just add one.

I already put a new sensor in it. That's why I am wanting to add a gauge. Was just looking for the thread so I could buy one without removing the sender that's in the car.

yeah, keep the stock sensors in place, add a new sensor. I'd drill & tap somewhere (on the engine side, not the radiator side) so you can add one.

Most come with 1/8 npt, and it's not too hard to make one fit.

So drill and tap into head instead of just replacing the sender with a gauge?

yeah, I'd probly go into the radiator outlet thing on the head. So you can pull it off to do it.
