My f23a5 is dead but i have found I can get a JDM F23A1 for nearly half the cost with more than half the miles. So I'm thinking an f23a5 non-vtec to f23a1 swap since I can find f23a1 for cheap but with out the ecu.
So I am wondering if anyone here's ever run the f23a1 with the non-vtec ecu. Will it function properly, just without engaging vtec?
If not, what wiring is required to get the vtec up and running on this motor after finding f231 ecu (assuming it also needs to be flashed re:imobilizer), or would an LX/EX harness be better?
