Mine quit blowing cold air, so I thought it was low on refrigerant turned out it was a plug on the compressor that came loose somehow? So I would check both of those areas.

yep. I was leaking refrigerant at one point out of the schrader valve (fill valve) but I had a shop fix that.

well the valve itself is like 6 bucks or something. But the shop will have to re-vacuum the lines. Its cost me like $85 I think total. But I would go in there and just say thats the problem. The leak could be else where. Did you check the refrigerant level?

you need something like this guage, here, Then you'll attach that to the refrigerant fill valve.

It might be easier just to run into an autozone or something and ask them. It will be easier for them to show you than to try and explain it on the internet.

take it to a shop and have them fix it. Not tryin to be a dick but from the sounds of it you don't know nearly enough about an a/c system to be diagnosing it. Plus you don't wanna have to buy an a/c manifold gauge set that your just gonna use once.
