Well that went to crap fast.

They had the convertible part right, if they had only put all that other money into making the rest of the car work. Coulda been pretty incredible.

thanks for finding that other picture, even though it makes the car worse, i searched but couldnt find anything.

Without knowing sales figures in the convertible market I think that, if people were in fact buying convertibles, an Accord convertible looking like that would have been a sellable car.

But I don't think convertible cars are a very big market anymore, except for high end cars (vettes, benz's, etc.), and convertible only sports cars (s2k, Z series). I think most people would go for the coupe version before the drop-top, as in the case of the Sunfire/Cavi/Sunbird convertibles of the past. And the old convertible Dodges as well. Not really big sellers
