I have been charged with DUI 3 times, but never convicted...... (knock on wood)

Needless to say, I don't drink anymore.

Charged 3 times? you're extremely lucky that you didn't cause a crash which may result in the death of some kid... etc..... At least you stopped drinking which is very commendable.

Oh ya, I should ask if your car is in your name, Angel, because if it is you might be eligible for those snazzy yellow DUI plates... I'm not sure how those work, but I know they're for DUI drivers...

well whatever i go to court oin thursday, I'm getting a hella good lawyer and I'm going to fight it.. I got pulled over at 1228 and too the test at like 129 so he says... I have still yet to get my car back... not that I really need it becuase I cant drive I think that I just need to get a tricycle and ride that around. If all this goes through I'll have 12 points on my license before I'm 19.

I'm not sure how it works where you live, but back when I was having problems like this I ended up getting out of it by having the charge reduced to reckless driving. I still had to attend AA meetings and stuff like that but my license didn't get suspended and it saved me a hell of a lot of money....

and yes thank you I know I am very lucky, and yes it took me a long time to realize how bad I was fcuking my life up and I have been off the sauce for a year and a half and now I go to high schools to tell kids just how bad it can get.

Getting back on the subject, I would suggest that you ask your lawyer about getting the charges reduced because you are a first time offender. Some states have first time offender laws that you can invoke but as I stated before I don't know what state you live in so this may not help. But seeing as how you are 18, sometimes judges show mercy on the young and give them a chance to turn it around.

Whatever happens, I wish you the best of luck. Keep your head up, it's not the end of the world......bad things happen to good people for a reason.

If you have a good history criminally, no other offenses, or minor ones (like vandalism when you were real you or somthing), you can probably get your offence lessened. In cali, we have what is called "wet and reckless," it's not a porno movie, it's just a smaller offence, you still loose your licence but it's less expensive and doesn't affect your licence as much. And i've seen people just go to reckless driving with a nice judge, still bad, but not nearly as bad as paying for impound fees, dui classes, etc. Look into that, you usually can get one sort of get out of jail halfway free card.

Good luck man. Although i've never been in that situation, i have done it and i have messed up my old car that way. I can see you are down which is a good thing, probably won't do it again. I'm 24, 205lbs and i will not drive after one drink anymore unless it's an emergency. I could probably get away drinking 3-4 and waiting 30 min. But my mentaility is not there. I hope you get to the same. I hope it works out.

Really on depends on what you blew and your past driving history, speeding tickets, racing tickers etc..will screw you hard on that DUI charge. Fight it, but don't plead innocent. If anything plead no contest. You were obviously drinking and driving, so I mean you are in the wrong. The best you can hope for is a less harsh punishment. Take it as a lesson learned.
