AEM intake Problem

If you have or know of someone having a dremel cut the bracket to where its half a centimeter to the piping

less then a year got it last smog cause the intake i had was not C.A.R.B approved

it'll run...but would it be as efficient? no. depends when you would like to change it. you could even run it for years to come but i don't recommend that.

That's why I got a MUGEN short ram ^_^ I wouldn't recommend trying to fix it or weld it. Those intakes are manufactured for efficient airflow without any resistance. Having a non smooth surface inside doesn't give you the most out of the short ram. Do you still have your stock intake?

nope dont have the stock intake anymore and the knock off intake i had i sold to someone.
a friend said her roomate works for Minute muffler and some motorcycle shop and he said he would weld it for $20, but your saying welding is not the best option? would it ruin my car?

it won't ruin it but you need the bracket anyway. it's gonna flutter around like a fish out of water in your engine bay. the noise you heard will still be there. IF it was me, i would get a new one.

jb weld sucks, anyone buying that crap is just wasting their money. Just get the bead ground out and re-welded, should cost you peanuts VS. buying a new intake that wont make your car any faster.
