I want to put an NRG ebrake with a nice leather boot on my car since the stock one looks cheap and old and Im trying to freshen up the interior.

Will the old ebrake pull away from the metal or will it involve cutting off the old piece so I can slide the new handle on?

You could go get a junk yard one and mod it. Then you can swap it over so you dont risk ruining your original one.
