could I just take my thermostat out nd run it with out
antifreeze circulating problems.. please help..

It's not recommended. What IS recommended is you replace it and get done with the problem.

Yeah it could be DOA the cap could be too.

Replace both the thermostat and the cap, then let us know if any other problems persist.

When you take off the cap it is supposed to build pressure and circulate the coolant and water. Thus the radiator is doing its job. If your cap seals the radiator it should be fine right?
