What type of riding are you gonna be doing? Mostly on road or more off road stuff? My guess is that the tire is gonna be somewhere along the lines of 26x1.95 or so. For on road riding go skinnier (usually a matching set of skinnier tires) like 26x1.5 and for off road you could step up to a 26x2 or 2.2. The brakes shouldn't be an issue, use the release to get the wheel in and out.

Yeah brakes/tires are not going to make a difference in actual riding. But if you go wider than what you have not it may make it difficult to get them on/off the bike. I have 700x25 on my road bike, and i regret it, but only because it is more of a hassle getting them on and off the bike since they are wider.

Next set will be back to my old 700x23..waiting to use some nice stuff from a customer's bike if they don't want it anymore :D

I'm running 23's on my Cannondale and 28's on my fixie. I wish my tires werent so big on the fixie but they are tough as nails so I cant complain.

I am guessing they are not the newest. They were installed when the shop was built, so they are about 3 years old. I have never looked at what model they were. I had the bench outside of the back room when I was building. Brighter location since it had windows, but I think I like being in the back more. It gives me a wall between myself and annoying customers haha

I will try and take some pictures of the whole shop this week.
