doing an acura TL dash swap in my coupe, figured out somebody has pulled the cluster before and installed this "thing"
i have no idea what it is but it's spliced into the last 2 wires on one of the cluster plugs, just a red + black wire are spliced in and they come from this box, there was other wires coming out of the black box but they were cut and taped shut.
Any ideas? tried looking up the part number, says made in usa and passed all fcc inspections yadayadayada, alarm? glow gauges? acura had xm radio wired into the ignition but nothing else, ill probably leave it but idk what it is lol

Aftermarket steering wheel control adapter is my guess. Did the vehicle you pulled the dash from have an aftermarket stereo?

not that i know of, had the xm radio plugged into the antenna lead spot, i thought those were plugged into the controls.
 maybe it's some sort of module or wireless thing because there's no plugs coming out?
still lost

I installed a steering wheel control module in my car awhile back when I switched to an aftermarket deck and that looks alot like my installation...mine was much cleaner.

The module comes with a bunch of wires that u don't need when installing on a Cg. I think I still have the manual around here somewhere. I can look for it if you need it, I'm almost positive this is an older version of the access awsc.

Thats not an adapter. It has an ESN number. Like on CDMA phones or sattelite radio.

Toss it, unless you want to try and get a subscription to the tracking service, if they will even release that box from the original subscriber, who coul potentially still track you.

Some 'buy here-pay here" dealers install them for easy repo's.
