complete bull****

show me some of these "studies"

while it's true that schools do give an additional look to "underserved" students, this does not apply the other way around. Why would a school choose to purposely not choose the smartest applicants ? What would they gain by not accepting them, and instead rejecting them.. At least with the admission of underserved they can say they are a "diverse" school.. but reverse racism just doesn't make any sense and does not benefit anyone

Plain and simple, only the best shold get in, period.

The problem, even with this approach, is the best can't always afford to get in, or are not always afforded the opportunity to get in.

This is true, but I view it as a simple reality and it is what it is, however unfortunate it may be. Same for people who can’t afford to buy a car, they just have to find alternative means of transportation.

I am okay with some scholarships, but not to the point of where it gets ridiculous.

abt the wealth part, absolutely true... just look at the latest census data

ehhhh

You're right Chris, as long as there is an equal opportunity for them to get a similar level of education.

So, because an inner-city person can't afford to pursue their dream of going to Yale to become a Doctor/Lawyer, they shouldn't be 'ecouraged' to go to some local community college to get a trade skills diploma.
