Auto off headlights

What controls the auto-off headlights on our Ex models?

im not sure... but i think theres a timer when the engine is off and headlights are on (hi & low beam)???

Should be a relay and you need to take your keys out of the ignition. Plus Lx inside lights goes off normal and EX fade out slowly.

oh the lights are differnt inside the lx N ex? i gotta check it out when I go home. I ask this question becasue I was wondering if i can do that auto off feature on my dad's Lx.

Does it take time or do they just go off? I have an ex, never noticed it but never leave my lights on. Maybe i have a feature i don't know about lol.

if you shut your door with the key out of the ignition, the headlights will shut off on the ex.

i have an se and we dont have that, pretty cool i wonder if you could mod it to do so, i never forget though and even if i do there is this annoying beeping noise to remind me of my stupidity haha

it is about a 10-15 sec delay, your lights go offf and when you open the door again, it will come back on, the manual says ex only.
