from my little research i have done it seem to me that the g23 produces low #'s. In theory the stroker bottom end of the f23 mated with dohc head should be way more impressive. I think the stock f23 with a sohc head makes better #'s. Ive been comparing the #'s that ihazsnail has put down and those are pretty impressive. Hope find some good #'s for the turbo g23 vtec or else im just going to turbo the sohc
And yes like i said i dont have the money or the down time right now but this is a slow build and everything starts with a platform. So this is my 1st step, weighing my options for which motor i want to build up.
And i think i made up my mind and narrowed it down to 2 choices. Its either the g23 vtec w/ h22 head, or straight up f23. thanx for all the help though and jeff if you can find me how much this guy is making i would appreciate it

lol shahid got is numbers after like 3 or 4 motors.....not **** talking him in the least just sayin if your a broke college you shouldn't expect the kinda number's he's making anytime soon. boost isn't cheap. at all. I've got probably 5-6k in my build and its making low 200's. granted I'm not running nearly as much boost as I built it for, but still. not cheap. if you wanna learn and keep it cheap turbo your stock motor. when you get bored of the power buy an extra engine and take your time building it with quality parts then when its done you can just yank the old one and drop in the new motor in a weekend.

I think you should just do the F23 if you're a college student. It's been done so you can use other peoples builds to learn from. If you're tight on money then just keep saving it doesn't matter if it takes a while just pick something and stick to it. Good luck.
