i like the second option, but if you want to still be able to access your spare, since you said its important to you, id go with the first one. or you could just build a box, put velcro on the bottom, and have that sitting in the middle of your trunk, haha, like mine, so if i need my spare, i just pick my sub up, move it back, and get the spare.

Keep in mind that subs facing eachother will have some cancelation. You have two soundwaves colliding. Well actually you have an insane amount of soundwaves of varying lengths, i won't go into that. So that can reduce volume. But things have to be perfect to have a drastic effect, you will probably get some of that effect. Just keep that in mind.

My setup is similar to #2 except all i have visable is a box. I plan to make some sort of "shrowd" or cover to keep everything else out of site. I don't like exposed amps because after a few years, your cool system is now an outdated system, even if it still sounds great. Visual stereo equipment will make you car look dated quicker than anything else. Especially now that amps are made to acutally be appealing to the eye. The disadvantage of #2 is you loose the function of your folding seats. For me, if i really need it, it only takes about 10 min to get everything out. But i actually like it this way. Its so easy to tell friends, nope, i can't fit all your crap in there, if say, they want me to help them move something.

you don't get just cancellation though, if you have cancellation in one spot of the car you will have amplification in another, because it all depends on how the soundwaves are colliding, and they will be bumping into each other differently throughout the car.

also, considering spyder will probably be crossing his sub somewhere between 60-80hz, it shouldn't matter anyways.

aim subs at each other and they may cancel each other out.

i would go with option 1 because its different and looks clean, and unless your going to enter car audio comps then i dont think that it will make a big difference in sound quality.

i personally like option 2 better but if you're going for more trunk space it seems like the first option would be better..in my opinion
