If they over tightened one they probably done it to all of them. Make sure they weren't stretched.

gotta use a small sledge hammer sometimes....and you gotta hit it with alot of force....using the weight of the sledge to do the work...

yea well is just tap in and tap out like you said, But however you cant get the hub out and seperate them from the knuckle. You need like 600 pound of force to press the hub againt the knuckle, but you need to get the hub out to tap out the stud.

The Accordian broke off one on each side of my car in one day. It cost me $100 for each side. Damn if you really can get it done for $25 that's a good deal, I got screwed!

Lol, youi just had to call him out.

I've done it before on other cars, it's not challenging but they can fight you. This is something where i'd be hesitant to recommend you do it yourself unless you don't like taking it into a shop. I mean, it's dirt cheap to DIY but it's almost not worth the time for how much a shop will do it. I'm against taking my car to a shop, that is the only reason why have done it myself before.

The apes at the shop overtorqued my lugs, and I broke the tip off of a stud on the driver's rear wheel. Right now I just have been riding with three lugnuts... how hard is it to replace the stud? I heard they just tap in and out? That true? How much about do these things go for from the dealer?

Thanks.

easy done to many couse of new tire guys at work. just undo the brake and take a nice BFH to the broken stud out of the hub just dont hit any of the good stud or you will need to replace them also. to get ur new stud in use some over size washer or nuts use a old lug nut to run the stud in til its flush with the hub. not over do it or you will ruin or brake the new stud. reassemble ur brakes and ur done

Be careful, as the best approach is to shave a bit of the head stud off so it will go in easily (it's a bit angled)

I did not heed this advice, and messed up the thread on the tip of the stud, and proceeded to get the lug nut stuck on the end. When trying to get it off, I pushed the stud back out the rear of the hub, so when the stud would just turn with the lug. I just brought it to a shop after that, so just be careful, and when you get the stud on, thread the lug nut on WITHOUT the wheel first

Anyone? I'm driving on 3 lugs and I'm sure it's unsafe. I went to a shop and they said $45 labor + he has to order the part. That's why I was like screw it I'm going to order the part and have the person doing my suspension do the wheel stud too. So I just want to confirm which part it is.
