Like the title says my car wont come out of park unless i use the gearshift override. this just started this morning. it was fine yesterday when i got home yesterday evening. of course its a autotragic. once i use the over ride to get out of park i can get to all the other gears like there is nothing wrong. there is no change in acceleration from before, everything else is the same.

Sounds like the brake sensor/switch whatever it's called is bad (unlocks the shifter when your press the brake).

I think there was a recall on the interlock system. Check with the dealership you migjt be able to get it done for free.

I was able to change mine out myself. It's down under where your brakes are inside the car. It's VERY easy. It's just a biotch getting the thing lose. I was able to go get my brake light switch out of another totaled accord. be careful however when you are driving because that means you have NO BRAKE LIGHTS and getting hit in the back = FTL.
