You should find someone with a good obd2 scanner and obtain some live data and a freeze frame. Maybe check to see exactly what obd2 codes that your car is showing. Pull up the live data for the primary & secondary o2 sensors to see if they are fluctuating like how they should. The primary should be fluctuating between 0v-.9v and the secondary should have a steady constant voltage of maybe .6V or .7V. If the two oxygen (o2) sensors are showing the same voltage readings, then most likely you have a leak somewhere or a bad catalytic converter. Try to grab laser temp gun to check the temperature of the catalytic converter at normal operating temperature to see if it is operating like how it should. Diagnose before you waste money on random parts that are not the culprit to your problem.

I have check engine light on for 2 years because I need to change catlytic converter what will happen if I keep driving like this will it eventually ruin my engine? And I feel like I am getting bad mpg is it beacuse of this emissions problem? I have been hesitant to fix this because of the cost and people tell me it's not required because it will no way harm my car but only just release bad air quality.

Let's say I did fix my emissions and replaced the converter, what differences will I notice in my ride?

lets see you will free up that clogged a*s exhaust system for one so you will feel a noticible power increase also your car wont smell like eggs from frying it lol as far as not fixin it..well your car will be a snail like eggy mass of slowness with 10mpg lol..straight pipe it if your broke mane

i had the same issue, and yes it is possible that it can harm your engine, my catlytix convertor was bad an fried my spark plugs/wires my dizzy cap/rotor also and could have siezed my motor if i didnt catch it in time, so in my opinion if you cant pay the costly $300+ for a new one just eliminate it and go straight pipe and keep your 02 sensor running still as should with a cat, and yes it does effect your mpg cause i was getting around 10 mpg with a fried cat, and after i replaced everything it fried im getting around 30+ mpg on hwy and 20+ on streets.

THIS^ :mf_pcwhack:

This is literally impossible....

:henry:

Can nobody spell catalytic converter?

NOPEZ:dunce: did someone put a X in dat sh*t lol
