Alright I'll bite. I got a 2001 EX V6 dealership says that I need new motor mounts. How can I see if they're trying to get money from me on a non-issue or if it's actually something I need to do? My car runs nice and smooth on the road. Physically checked engine and it doesn't move very much when I rev it up. I don't know if this helps out at all but my gas mileage is around 14MPG.

Well, I have personal experience on the V6 ;)

so, look it em, or post pics, the passenger side one is a 'donut', is the bolt centered or dropped? Dropped-replace, easy, can also do a timing belt.

Front AND back, centered, are they leaking? Are the vacuum lines attached? Temporarily, stick on a new vac hose, like 5' long, -SUCK- -HARD- pull any air? Yup... Replace...Difficult :(

Trans, doesn't seem to matter too much, if somehow it has collapsed, I'd be amazed, might as well post a pic if it is dead.

Also, for an easy check-up, look at the engine while running, is it rough at idle?

Oh, low gas mileage...

Does your check engine light even work (on, with moment key on, before you start)?

I'd assume you have an issue showing up the exhaust is rich...

For the easy check - idle is smooth, Engine runs quite and smooth, I actually wish my car was a bit louder from the factory, so many time I have had people not looking and crossing the street on bikes or walking cuz the didn't hear any car. Geez, if vampires and werewolves were real those people would be the first to get picked off. We would have a lot less YouTube videos too. But I digress, CEL does show up then go away when starting the car.

I'll w as it until day breaks to check out the other stuff. Just in case of vampires and werewolves, never can be too careful (well you can, but that's another story).

k, I would check the engine mounts, don't have 'em totally dead.

Now, for MPG...
I'd go for a data log (OBD2) showing:
-TPS
-RPM
-HO2S
-IAT
-ECT
-MAP

that's all I can think of right now, you can get down to 14mpg if you're beating on it, and with no CEL/MIL...it might be the driver :/

But I'll take a look and see if anything is off, probly post the data logs for driving, inluding stopping/starting from a stop, about 5min total, thinkin 'Excel' files.

BTW - I got the code reader off eBay, the one you recommended. Looks like I will be using it real soon.

p1456 Evap leak

-lotsa work! Finding a leak is hard, easy way would be a smoke machine, other way check hoses for tears/cracks, start engine (hot) then underbody (banged) then tank. Check valves, may need to disconnect one hose to blow in it.

p030(1)(2)(4)(5)(6) Misfire
p0300 Misfire

-no diag, these are just reminders of it not running

p0113 IAT

-waited on this, it may be the cause of misfire codes, remove, check for damage, clean carefully, you man need a whole rattle can of carb cleaner. Proly need a few wire brushes too (small!)
Check CAREFULLY FOR DAMAGE, re-install, wipe codes, how's it do now? Prolly the same, no problems noticed...
