CEL: P0420 and P1381

My car is throwing codes :

P0420 67 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold
P1381 9 Cylinder Position Sensor Intermittent Interruption

The car is a 2000 Accord LX barely hit 202k miles. Motor is a ulev f23a4.


My inspection is due this month so yeah... got to fix the cel.

For the cat I know the car is ulev but can I install a magnaflow weld in cat with the o2 bung?

For the second code all I need is a new distributor? correct?

For 1381
Check for poor connection at plug wires and that the wires are in good condition(no arcing, tears etc)
If all checks out you'll need to replace the distributor ignition housing/whole distributor to make work easier if necessary.

For 0420
Try resetting it and see if it comes back. Since your car is ULEV i would think they would test it under the ULEV standards and a normal cat.converter might cause it to fail even if new.

It's a LX my bad. And so inspection is coming up in the next week and I still haven't solved the cat issue... can I just run a normal accord cat? Will the code still appear? new accord cat is $100 new ulev is around $250 -___-
