I believe I had replaced mine for a brand new 1 (that's what the dealer said) they charged me $2500. I didn't paid dime 'cause the car had "factory warranty" at that time. Anyways it does not matter if you have an extended warranty for 5 years.:driving:

it was another transmission but it wasnt a brand new one. its a refurbished one by honda. i know cause mine cost $2500 also and on my reciept it said "refurbished transmission" but i was also on warrenty so i didnt pay. but i thought it was crap cause there is obviously a problem with the tranny and just putting in another one thats exactly the same is just a ticking time bomb.

hmmm... I have a 98 and I can feel my **** getting slower and I just know my tranny is going to go soon. It skips around like god knows what. I must say, they're right, our tranny makes our cars dangerous becuase it doesn't shoft down into first gear fast enough... Or it just doesn't shift into it becuase it feels like you need 2nd. :furious: :furious:

Got my letter a few days ago also :) my tranny for my 01 LX took a dump last Feb or March, my car was sitting at the dealer for 3 weeks because Honda did not want to fix my car cuz it was not stock lol plz and I kinda fought with them but they did it. They also in the time my car was there ran my car front first in to a curb and screwd up my lip which they repainted. Not to mention they also left all my doors unlocked and my hood popped open for many days. I took pics and showed the GM and went back the next day to see my doors still open sitting out side in the middle of the damn cold where anyone could just come and take what ever they wanted. It was then that I said to my self that my car will never see the dealer again and decided to do the 5spd swap. Oh and that was the first and only time my car was at any Honda dealer and the last. Honda does not install new tranny's they have a company I forgot the name but Honda gets the rebuilt trannys from them for all these recalls a friend that works at honda told me while got my car fixed. If you call Honda of America give them your VIN # and they will tell you if your car has the recall warranty, before many people thought this recall was just for AV6 cars but that's wrong.

My understanding of this case is that it isn't a recall, its a decision in a court case, and the deal was for NEW transmissions, not rebuilt ones, although that might have changed. Either way, its a new transmission...
