Hey all I'm new here, but not to forums in general. I have a 2001 accord that I am looking into doing a 5 spd swap into, and found a trans out of a 97 acura CL 2.2 for like $150. I was just wondering if it's around the same gearing as the 2.3 5spd's because I do a lot of highway driving and want to keep the longer gearing. I drive a 98 integra gsr at the moment and at like 70 mph I am running around 3500 rpm's and that gets old real quick. thanks for the help.

yes unfortunately the one listed is from the f22b1, which I found a trans ratio list where the two transmissions are virtually the same until the final drive, where the f22b1 trans is 4.266 whereas the f23a1's final drive is 4.063. now if I'm not mistaken the the higher the number, the lower the gearing is, right? I'm not 100% sure on that, though. If so then the s2a4 trans from the f22 is closer to the "mid-geared option" of the H22 from the prelude si.

the trans itself would work on your car, im not sure about the rpm's at whatever speed...i wouldnt think itd be too far off from the 6th gens though. in both the auto and manual 6g's ive had, they were at 3k at 80.

Hmm, I wonder why Honda gave the same model of CL two different engines. If the ratio you found is correct then you should have a better cruising RPM. This might be a better FD transmission for the M/P franken tranny. Please post results.
